Light-bodied made with Brachetot DÕAcqui grapes. Distinctive notes and color of strawberries. Enjoy chilled with fresh berries and plum tarts.
Vintner's Comment:
Our Spuma Rossa, a red sparkling wine, is made with Brachetto D'Acqui grapes, typical of southeast Piedmont region of Italy. It's a strongly aromatic wine grape with aromas of strawberries and raspberries. It is produced in frizzante style which means that its not as fizzy as Spumante or Champagne, but it still has got some kick in it! It's fermented so its alcohol level is around 6% which is considered a low alcohol wine. Since you're not adding anything to stop fermentation, you have to chill it immediately in order to save some of the sugar content and keep the alcohol level low. Like Barbera, it comes from the same region of my mothers family, it's another wine vareital that I grew up with and know well. By being light, aromatic, fruity, and sweet I thought it would adapt well to the American palate and its definitely become a new favorite at the winery. It's definitely a sweet wine New Jersey loves!

Best Sweet Red
I wasn't a huge fan of red wines before trying this wine at a friend's. Now, I love all wines equally. However, this is the best sweet red wine I've ever had -- I advocate for this wine to friends and family. Just bought many bottles to give away as holiday presents. Love!
